Brandon was born in Detroit, Michigan, son of Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, preacher of the Great Faith Ministries International. Jackson studied at West Bloomfield High School. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to be a comedian. He claims to have been "discovered" at the Laugh Factory. Its role as "Junior" in the movie "Roll Bounce" earned him the 2006 Black Reel Award for Breakthrough Performance.
